One of the greatest things we can ever do for ourselves, is to stay commited to a cause. It is so easy to get overwhelmed, but we must remember that God has given us an assignment and we must finish. In a week, we will be concluding Lent. Each day we move closer to the day in which our Savior was killed. From that experience, I often reflect on where were the crowds of people he had touched during his 3 1/2 years of ministry. Where were the lepers? Where were the 9,000 + he fed? Where was the woman with the issue of blood? Where were the blind men? Where were Lazarus, Mary, and Martha? Jesus had blessed them and gave of himself for them, yet when he needed them most they were gone. We today are just the same. We come to church when things are good. We priase God for the blessings he gives, but when things begin to get turbulent in our lives our actions change. Jesus reminds, "greater love has no man that will lay down his life for his friends." Christ has given us the greatest commitment, "I will never leave you nor forsake you!" Today, examine your commitment to God. Wherever you are slack, change. Don't put of to tomorrow what you ought to do today. |
